Workshop 3: B cells and Beyond: The players of antibody mediated rejection

This session is a continuation of the ‘Back to Basics’ workshop that has been held in the past two meetings. The focus is on some of the cells involved in antibody mediated rejection (AMR) including B cells, memory B cells, and NK cells.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Review the basics of B cells and their role in antibody development
  2. Discuss how memory B cells can be involved in antibody mediated rejection and the trials and tribulations of measuring these cells
  3. Highlight the potential role of NK cells and their potential involvement in the AMR phenotype and ‘missing self’
