Dr. Xiangjun Liu received his diploma in Biology at Cologne University in 1985 and his PhD in Biology from the Free University in Berlin Germany in 1989. Dr. Liu moved to the United State in 1990 and spent 3 years as post-doctoral research fellow at Waksman Institute of Rutgers University in New Jersey and as a 2 year cancer research fellow at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York. Dr. Liu started his carrier in HLA field in 1995 as the senior scientist at Biosynthesis Inc. where he developed the “FasType” SSP Typing kits in dried 96 well plate first in the world in 1996. Dr. Xiangjun Liu joined Pel-Freez Clinical Systems in Milwaukee in 1996, later becoming their Chief Scientific Officer. In late 2001 Dr. Liu moved to China and founded BFR Gene Diagnostics. Starting in 2017 Dr. Liu established three Transplant Diagnostic Service Labs to provide comprehensive testing and consulting services to over 80 transplant centers throughout China. In addition, Dr. Liu has built transplant research and a clinical study teams and works closely with leading transplant centers in China to develop Biomarkers for acute GVHD, TA-TMA, chronic GVHD and leukemia relapses in HSCT and Biomarkers for organ transplant rejections and renal disease recurrence.
