Dr. Rajesh Parmar, PhD, is a Project Scientist in the R&D division at the UCLA Immunogenetics Center, University of California, Los Angeles. He leads and manages translational research projects aligned with the center’s strategic goals and contributes to grant development, scientific publications, and conference presentations. Dr. Parmar completed his postdoctoral training with Dr. Elaine F. Reed at UCLA, where he studied immune responses to natural SARS-CoV-2 infection and vaccination using systems biology and multi-omics integration. His current research focuses on understanding the immunological mechanisms of graft rejection and infection in transplant recipients, particularly in immunocompromised individuals. He earned his PhD under Prof. Sarat Dalai at the Institute of Science, Nirma University, India, where he investigated malaria liver-stage immunology. His work, published in Frontiers in Immunology, highlighted how sporozoite-modulated liver dendritic cells induce long-lived CD8+ T cells that confer sterile protection. Dr. Parmar is passionate about immunogenetics, immunology, and adaptive immune responses. Known for his scientific rigor, collaborative spirit, and approachable personality, he brings both expertise and enthusiasm to every research effort.
