Dr. Brown is the Associate Director of the HLA lab at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, and an Associate Professor of Clinical Pathology & Laboratory Medicine at the Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. Brown has served on multiple ASHI committees and boards, including the Accreditation Review Board, the ASHI Quarterly Editorial Board, and chairing the Quality Assurance and Standards (QAS) committee. Dr. Brown has published scientific reports on the flow cytometric crossmatch, solid phase HLA antibody testing, and NGS assays for HLA typing. Most recently, Dr. Brown has learned how to code, and is working to make bioinformatics easier for HLA labs, including by starting the annual ASHI Clinical Informatics Workshop.
