Renato de Marco is a biomedical scientist and Co-Director of the Institute of Genetics (IGEN) in São Paulo, Brazil. He holds a Master’s degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. focused on molecular HLA compatibility in deceased donor kidney transplantation.
His primary areas of expertise include analysis of panel reactive antibodies (PRA), transplant immunology, and quality assurance in histocompatibility testing. He frequently interfaces with clinicians, laboratory professionals, and researchers to bridge laboratory data with patient care.
He is also actively involved in the development and standardization of laboratory protocols, as well as in the creation of online tools to support the interpretation of histocompatibility testing results.
