Yi-Ping Jin, MD, is a Researcher at The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California Los Angeles. His research focuses on HLA antibody mediated chronic rejection. Dr. Jin received his Medical Degree from Hunan Medical University in 1989. He finished his residency training in three departments, the Department of Internal Medicine, Surgery, and Infectious Diseases in the First Affiliated Hospital of Hunan College of Chinese Medicine (now known as Hunan University of Chinese Medicine and Pharmacology). Dr. Jin finished Fellow training in Clinical Immunology in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Hunan Medical University in China. He received his postdoctoral research trainings at four institutes, including Indiana University School of Medicine; Children’s Hospital Los Angeles; University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine, and University of California Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine. Currently, he works as a Researcher in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at University of California Los Angeles David Geffen School of Medicine. His research work over the past 25 years has focused on understanding the role of HLA antibodies in chronic transplant rejection with the ultimate goal of developing novel therapeutic strategies for prevention of transplant vasculopathy.
