Dr. Bravo-Egana is an Associate Professor of Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia (MCG) and an Associate Professor at the Graduate School of Applied Health Sciences at the School of Public Health of the University of Augusta. She serves as Director and Clinical Consultant of the Histocompatibility/ Immunology Laboratory at the Wellstar MCG Health. She completed her PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology at the University of Brasilia (Brazil) and the University of Miami (UM), FL (US), followed by a Post-Doc in Immunology. She then completed a Transplant Immunology/Director-in-Training Fellowship at the Transplant Immunology Laboratories at the University of Miami (UM) and at the Albany Medical College (NY). She also completed an MBA, specialized in Health Management and Policy at the UM School of Business. She is an enthusiastic volunteer serving in ASHI, ACHI and UNOS. Among others, she is the ASHI Commissioner for Region 1, the Senior Editor of ASHI-University, a member of the ACHI Directors’ exam committee, the ASHI Quality Assurance Standards committee and the ASHI Professional Standards Task Force. She has held positions as Regional representative for Histocompatibility for UNOS region 3, in the UNOS Paired Donation Task Force and chaired the ASHI Director’s Affairs Committee.
