Niketa is currently working as a Post Doctoral Associate at the Yale School of Medicine's Histocompatibility and Immune Evaluation Laboratory. At Yale, she is trying to find less invasive alternates to tissue biopsies, in order to reliably detect graft rejection post transplant. For her current project, she is studiying changes in the concentration of donor-derived cell free DNA in kidney patients following a transplant surgery, over the period of six months.
She earned her PhD from University of Manitoba, Canada, where she studied the rejection of allogeneic stem cells under low oxygen conditons, in murine models.
