Busra Coskun is a sophomore at the University of Pennsylvania, majoring in Computer Science with a concentration in Computational Biology and minoring in Mathematics and Statistics & Data Science. She has previously conducted research at major research universities, such as Rice University and at the University of California, San Diego, through NIH grants. Currently, she is a research assistant at the Penn School of Medicine, where she is working on the development and evaluation of factor analysis models for integrating multi-omics data. She is also the co-author of the R package immunogenetr, which is a comprehensive toolkit for clinical HLA informatics and aims to streamline key immunogenetic workflows. She authored award-winning articles and earned awards for her works in immunology and data analytics in peer-reviewed journals and academic conferences. Busra plans to pursue a PhD to continue studying computational biology and bioinformatics.
